The atelier

AURUM is a fictional jewellery house created to show the POLYMATH theme. Stones, metals and prices are demo content.

Every piece is cast in recycled 18k gold, set by hand at one bench and checked under a loupe before it is boxed.

From bench to box

Four stages, one pair of hands

  1. A plain gold signet ring, close up

    Cast in recycled gold

    Each piece begins as recycled 18k gold, cast in a mould made from the jeweller’s wax model.

  2. A halo ring, close up, showing the claws and the pavé

    Set by hand

    Stones are set one at a time at the bench, claw by claw, under a loupe.

  3. A gold pendant, close up, polished to a mirror

    Polished in three stages

    From a satin finish to a mirror, so every edge is smooth against the skin.

  4. A gift box tied with a ribbon

    Checked, then boxed

    Every setting is checked again before the piece is wrapped and sent, insured and signed for.

Kept for decades

  • Engraving

    Two or three initials, or a date, on every ring. Complimentary. (Demo.)

  • Resizing

    Free within 60 days, and at cost for life. (Demo.)

  • Insured delivery

    Signed for, in a gift box, in 3–5 working days. (Demo.)

  • Appointments

    In the atelier or by video, Tuesday to Saturday.
