Ember & Oud, over one evening

An evening, hour by hour

A candle is not one smell. This is how Ember & Oud changes between the match and the last hour.

  1. 0 min

    Strike

Woodsmoke and clove, the moment the wick catches.

  2. 20 min

    The pool

The wax melts to a clear pool and the scent starts to reach the corners of the room.

  3. 1 h

    Leather and oud

The heart arrives: darker and softer, closer to a fire than a candle.

  4. 3 h

    Amber hours

Amber and tonka, still in the room when you blow it out. Trim the wick before the next evening.

The studio

Poured by hand, cured for two weeks

We pour in small batches and let every candle rest for two weeks, so the scent settles into the wax before it leaves the studio.

  • Rapeseed and coconut wax
  • Burn time printed on every jar
  • Glass you can clean and reuse

Candle care

Burn it beautifully

  • Trim the wick

To about 5 mm before every burn, for a calm flame and no soot.

  • Melt to the edge

On the first burn, let the wax melt across the whole surface. It stops the candle tunnelling.

  • Never unattended

Keep candles away from draughts and curtains, and out of reach of children and pets.
