Grind and brew guide

Match the grind to the way you brew. Too fine and the coffee tastes bitter and drains slowly; too coarse and it tastes thin and sour.

Brew method	Grind	Looks like	Recipe to start
Espresso	Espresso	Fine flour	18 g in, 36 g out, 25–30 s
Pour-over, batch brew	Filter	Table salt	15 g to 250 g water, 3 min
French press	Cafetière	Coarse sea salt	60 g per litre, 4 min

Own a grinder? Choose whole bean and grind just before you brew.
