Ten minutes of thinking tires a young dog out as much as half an hour of running. On a wet afternoon, try these.
- Find it. Hide treats around one room and let them sniff them out.
- Tug. A short game with a plush toy, with a clear “drop” at the end.
- Muffin tin. Treats under tennis balls in a muffin tin.
- New trick. Five minutes on one thing: a spin, a paw, a bow.
- Name game. Teach the names of two toys, then ask for one.
Always supervise play with toys, and put away anything that starts to come apart.
