Open-ended play

By Editorial team

Toys that do less let children imagine more. A set of blocks is a tower on Monday, a road on Tuesday and a birthday cake on Wednesday.

What makes a toy open-ended

It has no single right answer, no batteries and no script. Blocks, stacking rings, a rocker that turns into a tunnel.

How to play along

Sit on the floor, say what you see (“that tower is taller than you!”) and let them lead. Tidy up together: sorting is a game too.
