About OPTIC
OPTIC is a fictional eyewear brand created to show the POLYMATH theme. Frames, lenses and measurements are demo content.
We cut frames in small runs, put the numbers first, and fit every prescription lens in one lab.
From block to frame
Four steps, three days
How an acetate frame is made before it reaches the lab. (Demo copy.)
Cut
The front and temples are milled from a block of plant-based acetate, so the colour runs all the way through.
Tumble
Three days in a drum with small wooden pegs and polishing paste. Slow, and the reason acetate looks deep.
Rivet
Five-barrel hinges are riveted through the front, not glued, so they can be tightened for years.
Fit
Your lenses are cut and fitted in our lab, then the frame is adjusted by hand before it ships.

The lens lab
One lab, checked twice
Every prescription lens is cut, edged and fitted in the same room, then checked against your prescription twice: once by the machine and once by a person. (Demo service.)
- Single vision and progressive
- Thin lenses for stronger prescriptions
- About a week from order to door
Numbers first
Three numbers, one fit
Every frame is drawn to scale from its real measurements, so you can compare it with a pair you already own.
